We’re a leading consumer-driven footwear company and wholesale supplier of women’s fashion shoes to U.S. department stores under brand names like Naturalizer, Via Spiga, Franco Sarto and LifeStride. We’re a marketer and supplier of brand-name, private label and licensed footwear to department stores, mass-merchandisers, and independent and specialty stores.Brown Shoe Company is currently seeking a top notch experienced Line Builder who has a great eye for fashion trends who can develop a private label product that will appeal to customers. The incumbent will have at least 5 years line building experience including shopping retail markets for trends, overseas travel, and designing/developing a line. You must have knowledge of athletic shoes, shoe construction and detailing of shoes. The ideal candidate will be able to work as an individual contributor, be extremely detail oriented, and work with diligence and speed. We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and really make an impact. Position Accountabilities Assures product styling and updated fashion trends are developed to meet customer/market needs and to grow the business. Assures on-time input (where applicable) and delivery of product. Communicate with sourcing countries on an on-going basis to advise of product changes, additional needs, and new development and production issues. Communicate with sales (where applicable) and sourcing on material and finishing problems or quality issues. Maintain ProductNet system with additions of new items, detailing of new colors and styles, and changes/modifications to product. Research, develop and detail materials and/or colors for new product development. Specific to Women’s: Communicate to the sales team the major footwear fashion trends and how they relate to mass market private label customers. Build strong business relationships with customers and develop private label product that is timely and fashion-right. Attend customer work sessions to strengthen understanding of each major account’s requirements. Assist sales in selecting the correct product mix for individual customer sales presentations.Position Specifications Educational Preference: College degree, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.Job Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in an equivalent position in the footwear industry.
