Sales and Marketing Manager - Textile

SALES AND MARKETING MANAGER SUMMARY:  My client, one of the MARKET LEADERS in the market including textiles, fabrics & apparel seeks a Sales and Marketing Manager to build new markets for both new and existing products via “pull-through” marketing.  Using your well-established industry contacts, you will call on big-name retailers and other huge merchandising companies such as Adidas, Nike, Kohls, Macy’s, and similar organizations to create demand for these high performance products.  This job is located in the low-cost-of-living “triad” area of North Carolina where you will be just minutes from the mountains and a few hours from the ocean.   It’s a great place to live – and a great job to have!

 

SALES AND MARKETING MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES

·         The OBJECTIVE of the Sales and Marketing Manager will be to grow sales through effective market analysis, promotion, and sales activities to the downstream market (Pull-through).

 

·         Using your previous experience in sales &/or marketing management, you will develop innovative marketing and sales strategies in conjunction with the sales department -- then execute these strategies to grow the business.

 

·         The Sales and Marketing Manager will have heavy customer contact and will participate in trade show activities to cultivate new customer relationships.

 

·         The Sales and Marketing Manager will have an "eye on the market", keeping an eye on fashion trends and looking at the materials that are hot and/or getting hot in the market.

 

·         Use your technical acumen to effectively communicate with customers, suppliers, and internal team members from various departments.

 

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE SALES AND MARKETING MANAGER

 

·         Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or Textiles

 

·         Strong understanding of marketing, merchandising, fabric design, fabric performance, yarn/thread performance

 

·         3 or more years in Sales, Marketing, Promotion in the textile /clothing/fabric industry, including knowledge and skills in “downstream” marketing creating “pull through” demand.

 

·         2 years managing Marketing promotional items (brochures, give-aways, booths)

 

·         2 years experience managing/projecting market needs/trends and sales growth.

 

·         2 years experience managing/working trade shows and the desire to do so.

 

·         Strong technical knowledge of threads, fibers, fabric, apparel to be able to effectively communicate upstream, downstream, and among company peers.

 

·         Great knowledge of fashion trends, where to find fashion trends, and must enjoy being involved in this area.

 

·         The ideal candidate will have knowledge of those who specify what materials will be used in high-performance apparel merchandisers and retailers.
