Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant is responsible for the various monthly processes required for maintaining an accurate and timely general ledger. In addition, senior accountants recommend and lead various process improvements.


Responsibilities:Various monthly close responsibilities to include journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement analysisMaintain fixed asset recordsMaintain accounting for retail outletsDevelop metrics for monitoring A/R and A/P departmentsResponsible for managing the implementation and/or conversion of accounting software applications.Analyze accounting workflows and prepare recommendations for implementation of improvementsDevelop ad hoc reports, to assist in system-generated reportingPerform special projects and analysis as requested.



Specifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related fieldCPA desired, equivalent experience considered3-5 years of highly successful experience in a financial accounting roleCurrent knowledge and understanding of general accounting principles and concepts.Interest in improving efficiencies in month end processes and use of reporting tools;
self-motivated to seek out answers, generate ideas, and develop new skillsAdvanced knowledge of ExcelStrong familiarity with accounting software and report writing Strong grasp of technology and how it plays a role in business processesKnowledge of gathering, organizing, analyzing or evaluating data or information and ability to prescribe action based on such data or informationEffective problem solving and analytical skills Strong communication skills Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks Organized and efficient Detail-Oriented 

Qualifications:
Successful candidates must have thorough knowledge of GAAP accounting as well as technical understanding of accounting systems and processes. Candidates must possess knowledge of current accounting best practices and project implementation skills. All team members are required to have, excellent customer service, communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills, and the ability to work independently without close supervision.
