Senior Manager- State Tax Compliance

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF ROLE (Overview of role/department):

- The Senior Manager for State tax compliance and planning will report to the Director of Tax Compliance and be primarily responsible for preparation and review of consolidated quarterly tax provision, the preparation/review of the consolidated annual income tax provision, and assist in the preparation of the various State tax returns and State research and planning.

- Preparation/review of the consolidated provision for State income taxes under FAS 109 (including FIN 48 Accounting for Tax Uncertainties)
- Assist with documentation for FAS 109 and FIN 48 tax positions
- Assist the tax department with requirements of Section 404 of the Sarbanes Oxley Act. Liaison with Internal Audit as required for SOX testing
- Gather information which will allow financial forecast and modeling of the effective tax rate for State purposes
- Assist in the Preparation/Review of various tax returns including
- Assist in drafting responses to IDR's related to State audits
- Assist with State Tax planning and other tax department special projects
- Develop and maintain a knowledge of Federal and state income tax laws and current developments

- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred
- Minimum 8 to 15 years of experience which should include Big 4 public accounting firm & large multinational corporate tax department
- PC knowledge and skills using Microsoft Office applications
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills

- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- CPA and Masters degree in taxation preferred
- Experience with tax compliance software preferably Corptax
- Big Four Tax Experience preferred
