Staff Accountant

Oxford is an Atlanta-based producer and marketer of apparel products and related services. Our owned brands include Tommy Bahama®, Ben Sheman®, Indigo Palms®, and Island Soft. Net sales in fiscal 2007 were approximately $l.l billion.



Responsibilities include:

§ Perform month end closing of retail stores, restaurants, merchandising, manufacturing, and distribution charge companies including account analysis and journal entries.

§ Analyze variances and trends on the Financial Statements

§ Prepare account reconciliations including inventory, prepaids and accruals

§ Reconcile bank accounts and resolve pending items

§ Enter and monitor fixed assets transactions. Resolve reconciliation differences.

§ Process miscellaneous accounts payable transactions

§ Maintain and prepare spreadsheets for account analysis and reconciliation

§ Assist Senior Accountants and Accounting Managers with internal and external auditors’ requests.

§ Observe and reconcile physical inventory

§ Communicate with Group/Store personnel on accounting issues

§ Moderate travel required

§ Must be able to work some weekends during the year

 

Qualifications include:

§ Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (Accounting GPA of 3.0 or higher or equivalent work experience)

§ Proficient computer skills (Excel, Access, Outlook)

§ Good data entry skills (10-key)

§ Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks

§ Detail oriented

§ Good communication skills

§ Self Starter

§ Team Player
