Applications Software Engineer

Software Engineer-ApplicationsOur client located in Austin, TX. is looking for a Software Engineer to develop application network traffic simulation. In this role, you will be responsible for the development of application simulators to faithful replicate today’s service provider, enterprise and consumer traffic for multi-gigabit network testers.  Requirements Broad knowledge of application level network protocols. Must be able to express the important interactions of an application as a simple state machine ready to run in an embedded environment and assist in implementation Strong programming skills in multiple languages (C, Java, TCL, Ruby, etc) Creative, problem-solving approach to projects Comfort in a fast-paced startup environment At least 3 years of previous software engineering experience Must have a willingness to do whatever is required to meet aggressive deadlines Strong domain knowledge in data communication and high-speed networking Previous experience with high-performance network equipment development a plus Experience with Network Processor programming also a plus Very competitive salary and excellent benefits No relocation assistance provided    RemX IT Staffing is an Equal Opportunity Employer
