An individual contributor position responsible for the overall design and technical oversight of complex business initiatives in customer consulting engagements. This responsibility typically spans all layers of the business infrastructure interfaces with the account customer and customer executive management to define requirements and recommend solutions. The Architect works closely with the Account Management Team supporting a large Telecommunications company.MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:Industry domain experience (Telco)REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:Educates customers on Sun solutions and joint Go To Market offers.Participates in customer engagement planning and supporting sales efforts.Reviews and influences existing customer strategic goals.Collects and prioritizes customer requirements with the customer. Articulates alternatives in terms of cost, benefit, and risk where multiple solutions exist.Quality Assurance audits. PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE:Deep and broad technical knowledge of Sun products and solutions and the overall IT environment. Knowledge of competitive environment and alternative technology solutions / approaches. Extensive technical knowledge within a specified domain (e.g., system design and implementation, application architecture etc). Prior Telco background preferred.YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:8-12 + RelevantMINIMUM LEVEL OF EDUCATION:BS /OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.FIELD OF STUDY:CS, Engineering or Math------------------------------------------------------------------------------Sun is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
