Associate Technical Services Engineer

Coinstar, Inc. (Nasdaq:CSTR) is a multi-national company offering a range of 4th Wall(TM) solutions for the retailers' front of store consisting of self-service coin counting, electronic payment solutions, entertainment services and self-service DVD rental has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Associate Technical Services Engineer.

Role & Responsibilities:
This person contributes to Coinstar's success by providing hardware, software and process technical support solutions to field and headquarters staff.

Summary of key responsibilities:
• Diagnose, resolve, and document basic issues on the Coinstar machine
• Provide support to Technical Services Engineering to diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems
• Assist TSG Engineers with testing as requested
• Resolve trouble calls from field and headquarters staff relating to Coinstar products
• Respond and resolve technical questions from direct calls, E-mails, and inquiries in the Field Service Discussion database
• Research, test, recommend, document, and monitor corrective procedures related to Coinstar products
• Monitor and provide feedback on the technical performance of Field Operations to Coinstar management, which includes: Field Engineer and Sr Field Engineer performance, machine hardware and software performance, and efficiencies of current processes and practices
• Assist the Field Training Department by teaching specific technical subjects, collaborating in the development of course materials and curriculum, and delivering the latest field error trend information and maintenance process changes
• Produce and maintain technical documentation for use by the field, including training materials, checklists, procedures for field modifications, field technical manuals, circuit board diagrams, flowcharts, drawings, "how to" guides and "how it works" articles
• Participate in rotating standby duty to provide 24 x 7 phone support to Field Engineers, Senior Field Engineers, Weekend Warriors, Field Service Representatives, and the Customer Service Center
 
Preferable Qualifications & Experience:
• High school degree or GED
• Associates degree in Electronics Technology strongly preferred
• Minimum 2 years experience repairing computers and electro/mechanical systems
• User level experience with a major operating system such as Windows, NT, DOS, or Unix
• Minimum 1 years experience installing and maintaining Coinstar machines
• Extensive technical expertise
• Excellent phone communications skills
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
