COMPONENT LEVEL REPAIR TECHNICIAN

COMPONENT LEVEL REPAIR TECHNICIAN

We are DRI Corporation - a digital communications technology leader in the domestic and international public transportation and transit security markets.

We are seeking a very competent mechanic technician to test, troubleshoot, refurbish, package, and document work performed on electronic components and systems.

The job will be based in Research Triangle Park, NC, off Miami Blvd.Unfortunately, we cannot offer relocation assistance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.  Repair and test electronic systems built and sold by DRI Corporation. 

2.  Maintain an inventory of supplies (e.g., solder, cleaning solvents, etc.). 

3.  Troubleshoot electronics to board and component levels in order to repair specific circuits and/or components.

4.  Apply Company procedures to track and document repairs.

5.  Apply Company procedures to order and track parts and components. 

6.  Identify and report trends in failed parts, components, and systems. 

7.  Communicate to customers and internal employees the status of repairs. 

8.  Communicate to employees the reason for component or system break-down. 

9.  Package and label repaired products in a generally accepted manner for electronic components and systems.

10. Prioritize work by time-sensitive and urgent requests.

MINIMUM RECRUITMENT STANDARDS

1.  High School Diploma is required; a two-year certificate in electronics from a technical school or military technical training is greatly preferred. 

2.  Minimum of five (5) years of experience in troubleshooting, testing, refurbishing, and repairing electronic components and systems are required.

3.  Demonstrated understanding of microprocessor hardware and software operations is required.

4.  Demonstrated understanding of the industry-accepted process to track repairs is required.

5.  Demonstrated knowledge of proper packaging for electronic components and systems is required. 

6.  Demonstrated ability to move and lift products and packages up to 50 pounds is required.

7.  Demonstrated knowledge and experience reading and following schematics are required. 

8.  Demonstrated knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc.) are required.

9.  Demonstrated success and experience using diagnostic tools (e.g., Huntron, BP Microsystems, etc.) and processes are required. 

10.  Must be able to travel domestically.

 

NON-EXEMPT CLASSIFICATION - eligible to receive overtime compensation
