Chief Technology Officer / Product Design and Implementation – Excellent Opportunity, Relocation Assistance Offered.

We are currently seeking a VP of Product Management /CTO who possess the industry knowledge, expertise and passion to help design and implement world-class solutions for data protection and disaster recovery. 

The ideal incumbent will be responsible for creating the road-maps for existing and future product development to ensure marketplace success.  Must have a proven track record and hands on experience creating and implementing strategic plans into development-ready specifications.

Must possess managerial experience and the technical expertise to lead technical personnel, recruit software development teams, and encourage staff development. 

Will assess market conditions and technology and customer trends, and implement strategic product plans to capitalize on those trends and opportunities. 

 

Requirements - Applicants must have industry specific experience in data storage and disaster recovery to be considered:

·  Minimum of 10 years’ experience in senior leadership positions in the data protection/backup industry; broader storage industry experience is also an important factor.  Proven, successful leadership experience is a must.

·  Proven technical leadership of software development efforts, preferably surrounding data de-duplication and other relevant technologies; proven success maintaining feature sets and timetables in 6-12 month release cycles.

·  Extensive software design/architecture expertise, preferably including participation in teams awarded relevant patents.

·  Intimate understanding of key data protection/backup industry trends, such as:

o Data de-duplication

o Virtual machine technology

o Email archiving, search and retrieval

o Continuous data protection

…and the emergence of cloud computing—technologies, limitations, and implementation strategies.

·  Experience at assessing and evaluating market conditions, technology and customer trends, and envisioning and implementing strategic plans within the data backup/disaster recovery industry.

·  Extensive experience in integrating software design and development issues within the framework of today’s hardware technology; familiarity with PC client and server hardware technologies and trends.

·  Experience at optimizing software and hardware design to achieve high throughput levels in vaulting backup data across private networks and the Internet.

·  Experience in development of graphical user interfaces.

·  Extensive network of C-level contacts within the backup/storage industry.

·  Ability to represent the company in industry forums; prior speaking experience and proven thought leadership.

·  Ability to help envision and implement technical strategic alliances.

·  Deep understanding of technologies, strategies and trends associated with significant current competitors in the data backup/disaster recovery industry:

o Symantec/Veritas

o EVault/CommVault/Live Vault

o Zenith Information Systems

o Data Domain

o EMC

o Iron Mountain

o Acronis

o Asigra

o Sonic Wall

o iSCSI SAN vendors
