Cisco Network Engineer

This position is for an experienced Cisco Network Engineer responsible for planning, implementation, enhancement or operational support of simple and advanced complex data networks. This position will also assist with security support including policy-based changes and troubleshooting.

 

Required knowledge, skill, and abilities:
Extensive knowledge & experience with LAN, WAN and other networking, troubleshooting & design Sharp analytical skills to resolve multi-factor problems at the network, systems and application layers Working knowledge of protocols, architectures, standards, addressing, routing, switching & security Experience configuring Cisco devices, specifically Cisco PIX/ASA firewall, IOS routers & switches Documentation experience including configurations, Visio maps, operational procedures & manuals Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and coworkers Experience with diagnostic and NMS applications such as sniffers and a SNMP-based monitoring tools Knowledge of network security management, access, authentication, data integrity &  disaster recovery Working knowledge of cryptographic standards such as IPSEC, PKI and certificates is a plus Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing is required

 

Education and experience required:Five or more years experience supporting networks and network devices Network support certification(s) CCNA required; CCNP preferred Network security certification(s) such as CCSP, CISSP or SANS would be a plus
