Client Support Specialist -Public Safety

This is a direct hire position. Our client produces software and hardware for the public safety sector.

 

Job Description:

 

Client Support Specialists are responsible for internal and external technical support, training, quality assurance, product and process documentation and client installations.

 

The ideal candidate will be expected to be a team player in all aspects of project deliveries from the inception of the contract, writing and executing test cases through the installation process and ultimately support of a diverse product offering. Client Support personnel must possess exceptional technical support skills, where the focus is on customer service, quality assurance and project delivery. Customer handling and good inter-personal skills are as important as is technical acumen. The incumbent will be required to demonstrate their ability to exceed industry standard methodologies for the testing, delivery and support of complex public safety software projects.

 

Core skills include the ability to complete quality work, meeting strict deadlines in a client server (Windows/Oracle) environment, utilizing a strong knowledge of technical support and quality assurance methodologies and tools, the ability to translate technical requirements and situations to non-technical people, completion of thorough documentation of processes. specifications, issues/resolutions and training materials. Effective written and verbal communication skills, including telephone support and presentation skills, proven ability to analyze and solve problems quickly and prior experience in a software support environment or experience with database applications will distinguish the candidates considered for this position. Candidates must also possess the ability to adapt to a changing environment and priorities. Knowledge of or experience in the Public Safety Environment is preferred.

 

Knowledge of industry standard methodologies, experience with Microsoft Windows operating environment specifically, experience with Microsoft Operating Systems (NT, 98, 2000, XP) is required. Prior networking experience, use of Microsoft Office products, exposure to Oracle, SQL, and Microsoft Access databases, Installshield, GHOST by Symantec, Photoshop, Robohelp and Snag IT a plus.
