Client Support Technician
Client Support Technician
A leading regional provider of technology solutions is seeking an energetic, hard working candidate to fill the position of Client Support Technician. The successful candidate will be expected to work without direct supervision. The candidate will be responsible for problem solving, installation, and handling customer site servers, applications, operating systems, network equipment, printers, as well as company proprietary application support. This position requires some duties to be performed outside normal working hours in order to minimize the impact on clients. Furthermore, it may be required that the candidate be able to respond quickly to resolve system problems after hours, on weekends, and holidays as required by our clients. This position may require occasional travel to any of our clients within our 150 mile service radius. Daily activities will be based from our Crossville, TN location with a heavy reliance on remote support/mangement tools.
The successful candidate will have the following abilities:
A. Provide superior customer services.
B. Respond to incoming customer requests in a timely manner.
C. Accurately log customer issues.
D. Effectively communicate with other technicians on technical matters, as well as all levels of internal personnel in a team-oriented environment.
E. Effectively document problems, troubleshooting, and resolution of issues
F. Effectively resolve server, microcomputer, and network problems and research issues when necessary.
G. Effectively communicate with manufactures’ technical support personnel and utilize web-based support to resolve technical issues.
H. Install a wide variety of software including Windows Office products, all versions of Windows-based operating systems, and network software.
I. Manage client daily and weekly system backup functions to ensure reliable archival of all system data.
J. Install a wide variety of hardware.
K. Interconnect network devices to build functioning networks.
L. Understand network protocols and how networks function.
M. Install various types of UTP cabling in various client office environments.
N. Effectively answer computer software and hardware questions over the phone.
O. Perform the following task in support of network, computer, and printer maintenance:
o Install software as needed.
o Maintain databases on computers and network information.
o Research, identify, and purchase computer and network equipment.
o Conduct diagnostics and testing on computer and network equipment.
o Prepare and maintain maintenance records and repairs.
o Conduct routine cleaning and preventative maintenance on equipment.
P. Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Standards:
A. 1 year of technical support/customer support experience
B. Industry certifications desired
C. Candidates with current A+, Network+, MCP, MCSA, MCSE, Dell, SonicWall, Dentrix and/or Cisco certifications will be given special consideration. Candidates with Dental technology experience will also be given special consideration. (Digital X-RAY / Practice Management/etc.) Candidates with other certifications will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
D. Demonstrated experience installing, managing, and configuring Microsoft Windows Server systems.
E. Demonstrated experience managing enterprise virus software systems, Exchange e-mail systems, and SYMANTEC/VERITAS back-up software will be given special consideration.
G. Demonstrated experience of installing, supporting, and maintaining network equipment consisting of hubs, switches, and routers.
H. Demonstrated experience in a networking environment consisting of routing, switching, and VPN/security technologies.
I. Reliable transportation, a satisfactory driving record, and the ability to lift up to 50lbs.
