Communications Manager

Crawford Communications Group (www.crawfordgroup.com), located in Silicon Valley/Cupertino, is currently looking for a qualified Executive Communications Manager consultant for an engagement with our leading high technology client located in the San Jose/Santa Clara area.

Target Consulting Dates: May 2008, highly likely to be converted into a permanent employee role.
Firm Consulting Rate: $60 - $70 per hour, depending on experience, w-2 as a Crawford Communications Group employee.
Hours/location: Full time 40 hours, onsite at corporate headquarters. Requires moderate travel  both domestically and internationally.

Description:  The Executive Communications Manager is a polished, professional, and confident high tech communications expert capable of developing and delivering strategic communications to both internal/external audiences. Must be creative, possess influential leadership skills, be politically and protocol savvy, and highly effective at strategizing with senior managers in a corporation.  Capability to collaborate with and gain consensus across a broad internal cross functional team, as well as the ability to build strong relationships with key external stakeholders. 
This is an excellent “mid-career" level opportunity for the winning consultant to refine their executive communications management skills by teaming with an Executive Communications Director in one of Silicon Valley’s premier companies. The successful consultant will be adept at interfacing closely with senior executives and their direct reports.

 Professional Requirements: 7 + years of combined communications strategy and execution experience in multiple of the following functional areas, listed in the order of priority:  executive communications, corporate affairs, corporate communications, internal/external communications, and public relations. Must include at least 2 years experience with executive communications. Proven track record with high technology companies’ communications management, ideally including at one or more Enterprise/Tech 200 companies.Adept at grasping and translating the big picture, business strategies, and industry specifics into a wide range of top quality communication vehicles and deliverables.Successful track record developing the day-to-day communications from an executive point of view, including announcements, speeches, blogs, presentations, briefing materials, web presence, etc.Strong creative content development, management and delivery skills, including PowerPoint. Excellent writing skills with solid and relevant samples/portfolio.Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple high visibility projects simultaneously.Solid cross-functional teamwork skills for driving consensus among multiple stakeholders and across a large matrixed organization. Must possess excellent verbal, written and highly professional interpersonal/soft skills.
BA/BS in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, General Business, or similar. MBA a plus.
