Data Center Consulting Sales Engineer

World Wide Technology, Inc. currently has a Data Center Consulting Sales Engineer (CSE) position available in Washington, DC. This senior level resource will be responsible for the translation of our customer’s opportunity requirements into specific product and/or service proposals. This engineer will be responsible for developing solutions based on SUN products and will require extensive knowledge of SUN SAN, server and storage products and will have the expertise to best address customer needs with a cost effective solution based on SUN products.

 

Responsibilities:

 

- Aligns with WWT Inside Sales teams to represent WWT and SUN Solutions to all assigned accounts. 

- Uses knowledge of technology, products and services to build solution and solution options for the customer.

- Works with clients and Inside Sales to obtain technical priorities, challenges and initiatives that can be translated into WWT and SUN solution opportunities.

- Ensures effective coordination and support between account teams and supporting technical resources.

- Responsible for the coordination, delivery and quality of presales technology solutions deliverables within the domain of the opportunity which may include items such as configurations, architectural diagrams, and proposal inputs.

- Responsible for designing and proposing technology solutions that meet customer's needs. 

- Ensures that proposed solutions when implemented meet the needs and functional requirements of the customer.

- Assists with accounts within the assigned geography.

- Works closely with WWT Inside Sales to prioritize requests.

- May perform other duties as required.

 

Qualifications:

 

- Interpersonal skills.

- Communication skills.

- Knowledge of the technical aspects of hardware/software subject matter.

- Understanding of SUN products and their value added to the customer.

- Understanding of SUN configuration and quoting tools

- SUN certifications required.

- Other SAN certifications are highly desired.

- Candidate should also be capable of presenting solutions based on other OEM’s products (EMC, Hitachi, HP, etc.)
