TITLE: Database / Web ProgrammerAVAILABLE: Immediate

The Office of International and Executive Programs (OIEP) at the University of Maryland has an immediate vacancy for a database / web programmer.

Responsibilities for this position include: continuing an existing web based programming project and also begin new projects as assigned.  The chosen applicant will need the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced high pressure environment with the ability to also undertake other duties as assigned which may include LAN Administration duties at remote sites (training provided) - this is only temporary. This position will require the selected applicant to program using Visual Studio 2005.  The candidate must also have an understanding of Visual Studio 2003 (or be a quick learner) as the chosen candidate will also be brining older applications up-to-date.The perfect candidate for this position will possess a bachelor’s degree, have excellent communications / organizational skills and be able to work well in a fast-passed ever dynamically changing environment and also have good design skills.  The ability to create front-end interfaces that are user friendly creating an “off-the-shelf” look is a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS:                        

REQUIRED:Bachelor's degree, Knowledge of Visual Studio 2005, Knowledge of SQL 2000 / 2005, Ability to Program in VB, Ability to Meet Deadlines Under Pressure, Knowledge of Microsoft Office.

PREFERRED:Ability to create professional front-end interfaces in Macromedia Fireworks / Photoshop
