Desktop Analyst
The Desktop Analyst is responsible for the overall support of an Information Technology desktop environment. Key responsibilities include first-line of communication between the IT department and clients, both internal and external; provide primary support for client-centered technology; support IT standards and service-level agreements; develop and maintain strong relationships with clients within the business areas; support the business during emergency response situations; and identify opportunities for improvements to the IT operations model.
Desktop & Laptop Configuration, Setup and Maintenance.
Application Installation.
Remote Access Support.
Troubleshooting Desktop Technical Issues.
Cabling Installation.
Support Disaster Recovery Situations Desktop Telecommunications.
Configuration & Setup
(station programming, voicemail, routing, etc.)
Cellular Phone / Blackberry Support.
Video Conferencing Configuration & Setup.
Create/Maintain Technical Documentation.
PDA Support.
End-User Training.
Customer Service Interfacing.
Analytical Troubleshooting.
Maintain and enhance knowledge of industry trends and new technology through educational sources and continuous learning.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related discipline preferred.
Experience:
At least 2+ years of progressively responsible experience in supporting LAN/WAN desktop environments.
Effective oral/written communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven expertise with the following Hardware: HP Desktops/Laptops, PDA's, Secure ID, HP Printers/Plotters, Cell Phones, Pagers, Fax Machines, Video Conferencing Units. Proven expertise with the following Software: Windows XP Desktop O.S., MS-Office 2003 Suite, MS-Outlook, Visio, Winzip, Adobe Acrobat.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the candidate may be required to lift up to 60lbs, stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, feel objects, tools, controls, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, talk or hear.
Possess a valid driver's license.
