Desktop Publishing Specialist

Position:

 

Tasks varies from doing the layout of documentation that has been translated into different languages as well as graphic editing (no graphic design involved) and analyzing files by using translation tools and making quotes.

 

The position is primarily in support of our Life Sciences clients.  Some basic knowledge of Life Sciences

would be helpful, but is not essential.

 

Requirements:

 

• 2+ years Desktop Publishing experience.

• Extensive experience working within Quark Xpress, Adobe InDesign and Acrobat  is required

• Must be comfortable working within templates, style sheets, and extensive formatting.

• Strong working knowledge of the major graphics editing tools, such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

• Good communication skills, both verbal and written. 

• Ability to work under tight deadlines in fast paced environment.

• Must be comfortable working with Windows 2000, XP and 2003 and Mac.

 

Desired:

 

• Basic knowledge of RoboHelp, MS Help Workshop, and/or Adobe FrameMaker is preferable.

• Familiarity with translation memory tools such as Trados Workbench will be helpful.

• Experience with documentation and user assistance in a language other than English extremely useful.

• Familiarity with pre-press process will be helpful.

• Non-English language proficiency, preferably in an East Asian language (Japanese, Chinese or Korean)
