Desktop Technician

The Kemtah Group, Inc. is a National Information Technology Firm that Specializes in IT Infrastructure Support and Services. We have an immediate need to hire a full time Desktop Technician for the Houston, TX area. The hourly pay rate is $15.00-18.00 plus benefits. The hours are M-F, 5:00 pm - 2:00 am and on call every other weekend.

This position requires someone who can function in a high paced, constantly changing work environment and has the ability to manage tasks under little direct supervision. To be successful in this position, the qualified candidate must possess the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with co-workers and customers, as well as handle multiple responsibilities and priorities. This position demands flexible working hours and a “do whatever it takes” attitude in order to meet critical deadlines.

 

Scope of Work

Install, maintain and resolve incidents related to hardware and standard Microsoft operating system used in Houston’s manufacturing floor, including workstations/PCs, monitors, laser and Zebra printers, and RF devices.

 

Key Responsibilities:

· Provide Tier 1 and 2 troubleshooting to manufacturing workstations and Standard Microsoft Operating System.

· Perform installation and basic troubleshooting of peripheral devices connected to manufacturing workstations (Printers, RF scanners and Jet Direct Cards).

· Load software images to new and replaced workstations and RF scanners.

· Monitor and input support issues into OVSD tracking system.

· Participate on business project teams supporting set-up of new production lines and relay outs.

· Maintain hardware inventory of the supported equipment.

· Provide direction and recommendations to the customers on type of Workstations hardware to be purchase as the old hardware reach EOL.

· Assist with the antivirus software distribution and security Patches updates.

 

 

Skills

· Excellent working knowledge and understanding of the Microsoft Client Operating Systems.   

· Proven experience doing installation, configuration and troubleshooting of PC/Workstations equipment. Preferably within a multinational corporate environment.

· Flexibility to work during after hours shift.

· Ability to work independently, but also function as part of a team for various projects

· Good understanding of other infrastructure layers (Servers, Networks etc.)

· Ability to work at all levels within the company, possibly even including globally.

· Excellent communicator.

· Basic networking trouble shooting skills
