We have entry-level, mid-level and professional level Developer positions available. Job Objective: To provide requirements analysis, physical and logical design specifications, development and testing of computer programs, and/or application components; translate functional specifications into technical specifications; assess, recommend and implement practical, cost effective and efficient systems solutions to business, application and technical problems; perform prototyping, construction, integration and migration functions; may assist in platform determination; follow rigorous system development life cycle (SDLC) and project management best practices, comply with internal Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and other processes related to regulatory or compliance requirements, and adhere to change control, and problem management procedures. Job Specialties: Business Domain Knowledge Investments Domain (Equities, Fixed Income, Mortgages, Real Estate, and Credit Derivatives) Strong investments business domain knowledge in the brokerage or investment banking industry, (i.e. equities, fixed income, mortgages, real estate, and credit derivatives, portfolio management and research functions) Insurance, Pension & Annuity, Life Insurance, Universal Life, After-Tax Annuities, and Retirement Plans, e.g., SRA, IRA, Keoghs, 401k, 403b. Trust Services, educational savings knowledge, e.g., 529 College Savings Plans, Mutual Funds, and brokerage business Corporate Support Domain (HR, Law, FAF, Accounting) Knowledge of one or more functions: Human Resources, Law, Compliance, Finance, and Accounting, Marketing execution and tracking requirements Job Qualifications: Emerging Technology Frameworks and Languages Web applications, GUI, presentation and server-side design and development HTML/DHTML, JavaScript and Applets, struts for page flow and navigation; Object Oriented Programming (OOP) paradigm skills Knowledge of important Internet Explorer browser extensions, Model View Controller (MVC) patterns and other web technologies, including: XML, JAXP, SAX, DOM and XSLT; server-side examples include Servlets and JSPs. Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) Designs and develops a collection of self contained, decoupled and reusable services that communicate with each other in distributed systems architectures OOAD (Object Oriented Analysis & Design) & Design Patterns Analyze business requirements and design an object oriented solution, using UML to communicate the design to interested parties; use of Design Patterns; OOP Languages (Java, C++, Smalltalk) Develops using an OOP language (Java, C++ and Smalltalk, J2EE Platform; also required are: OOP paradigm skills, experience with J2EE APIs, protocols and development of multi-tiered applications Salary: Open (will vary based on experience) All applicants must meet job qualifications for full consideration for this position.
