Director, Global Compensation and Benefits As the Director of Global Compensation and Benefits for QLogic Corporation, you will assess the impact of current compensation programs and propose new programs to support achievement of strategic business initiatives.  You will have responsibility for overall management of the company’s compensation and benefit programs including the global compensation philosophy, policies and practices.  You will work closely with HR business Partners, HR functional managers, Executive leadership to deliver innovative solutions that continue to attract, motivate and retain outstanding employees. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  Develop and implement strategic plan and operating plans for the compensation unit.  Establish the vision, mission, guiding principles, goals, strategies, action plans and measurements required to ensure effective compensation programs. Direct the planning, design, implementation, and administration of QLogic’s compensation and benefit program, including: market pricing, survey participation, compensation software selection and management, focal review, base salary structure development, variable pay (sales and non-sales) and stock option and other equity-based programs. Special emphasis in knowledge of Black-Sholes and other equity valuation methodologies. Maintain a working knowledge of legislation that may affect compensation policies.  Counsel management regarding the application of sound compensation principles and practices.  Oversee compliance with legal requirements associated with compensation. Maintain effective working relationships within HR and across other company functions/departments.  Act as an internal consultant regarding compensation issues including sales compensation, international compensation, and integration of acquisitions. Develop a strategic and coordinated approach to implementation of international compensation and benefits programs. Ensure that the Company maintains legal compliance as well as competitive practices in the countries where we maintain presence. Work closely with HR Vice-President in development/preparation/analysis of presentations and materials for Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors. Provide coaching to management regarding employee compensation and conduct research and formation of proposals for management review. Develop and deliver compensation related training to management and HR.  Communicate compensation policies, practices and guidelines to employees and managers. Monitor application of compensation programs to ensure conformance to policies and guidelines. Effectively coordinate with HRIS/IT regarding compensation-related system applications. Responsible for management and development of staff.  Ensure proper performance management and rewards/recognition guidelines are followed within own team.REQUIREMENTS  BA/BS plus 10-12 or more years of compensation experience or equivalent including 5 or more years of management experience. Broad range of compensation experience including mergers and acquisitions, sales and international compensation. Strong emphasis on equity-based compensation programs; prior experience with (BOD) Compensation Committees preferred. Strong management and teambuilding track record. CCP, SPHR or GPHR preferredDESIRED SKILLS  Strong leader with the ability to interact with and influence others effectively – within HR, at the executive level and cross-functionally. Ability to research and identify problems, develop proposals, conduct analysis independently and in collaboration with others, and build support for new programs and plans. Strategic thinker who can manage long term and short term projects. Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, set priorities. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Strong presentation skills. Hi tech industry experience.
