EDI Specialist

Our Client located in the Detroit Metro Area is in need of an EDI Specialist for a Contract opportunity.

 

Description

Our Client is implementing Sterling Commerce’s Gentran Integration Suite (GIS) 4.3 and will be in need of an EDI Specialist to help them configure their old EDI infrastructure to the new GIS environment.

 

This is considered a training/implementation engagement with the main deliverable being the Client’s EDI team gaining the knowledge necessary to administer the GIS server and complete the data migration.  The main focus of the engagement will be knowledge transfer of configuring and administrating the GIS system.

 

One or two trading partners will be selected for use during this engagement as examples to demonstrate implementation issues and training concepts. The areas of focus for this engagement are as follows:Administration of the serverManaging users and user accountsTrading partner set-upCommunications protocolMailboxesWeb services (SOA)Web extensions

 

In our Client's current environment, they use 20+ copies of Gentran Director 5.4 and Gentran Server for Windows NT version 3.01. They are proficient with the Sterling Commerce AI mapper and will be able to transfer their maps to the new GIS server with little to no assistance.

 

Requirements

A highly qualified candidate will have capabilities in the following areas:Must have experience with GIS in a production environment using Windows ServerMust understand GIS User Administration and have the ability to understand and teach concepts surrounding managing user accounts, new user setups, and role based user accountsMust understand Trading Partner setups and have the ability to understand and teach concepts surrounding setup of new trading partnersMust understand the relationship between Trading Partners, Envelopes and Contracts and must be able to teach concepts of adding and configuring themMust understand Sterling’s implementation of Business Processes and be able to create and teach new Business ProcessesClient has purchased the Mailbox option, so the Candidate must understand GIS mailboxes and be able configure and teach concepts relating to new mailboxes as well as sub-mailboxesClient will be using a mixture of FTP and SOAP web service callsCandidate must understand GIS communications and be able to teach concepts related to set up of a new communications channelMust understand and be able to teach and fully explain the Web Extension module. Client will be using it to give users access to their mailbox and the ability to re-process, download or print their EDI documentsAbility to read and use XML and XSLTProficient in SOA and JavaMust be willing to work in tandem with a member or members of Client's EDI team and be able to provide knowledge transfer of all work being done
