Electrical Engineer, Regulatory Developing products for worldwide sales is a challenging and rewarding endeavor. As part of the Retail Printing Solutions team, a Regulatory Engineer fulfills a critical roll in delivering new products to countries across the globe. Once a product is delivered to a market, ongoing maintenance is required to keep the kiosk product portfolio competitive by upgrading its components such as increased memory, CPU performance, upgrading technologies (blue tooth, smart cards, wireless internet, memory card formats, etc.), as well as updating the components for field service and obtaining additional country certification. The individual will learn about world wide regulatory compliance initiatives such as European green laws (WEEE & RoHS), safety regulations such as UL, CSA, and emission regulations such as FCC Part 15 or Russia's GOST-R mark. Obtaining compliance in each specific country requires learning local safety and electrical requirements, labeling, packaging, shipping and documentation requirements, language requirements, power cords, plugs and green laws. Some countries such as China's CCC mark and Korea's eK mark require in country certification. As technologies change, regulations change and the regulatory engineer must learn and communicate the changes to the larger product development team as necessary. The candidate will be mentored by seasoned electrical product development engineers. Required Skills / Experience: The individual must be able to work independently. Organizational skills is a must, as certification requires extensive documentation, the individual must be able to interact with global suppliers and organize the required documents for submission to the certification agency. The individual must be physically able to assemble kiosk equipment, and is expected to be able to operate the software and react to non-compliance issues in a methodical and proactive manner. These skills may require Electrical, Mechanical and Software Engineering skills, and will require verbal and written skills. It is expected that the candidate is able to work in a fast paced environment. Will be required to document and communicate using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in Engineering or Physics. Preferably in a field of study which includes analog and digital circuits, power systems and electrical field emissions. Knowledge of worldwide regulations standards, for example UL, CE, CCC, Ctick, FCC part A, VCCI, etc. Experience with agency certifications and CB scheme is a benefit. It is desirable that the candidate be familiar with the following fields: AC to DC Power supply design Analog or digital circuit design Cable design Leakage current EMI and EMC compliance Wireless Communication
