Enterprise Architect (Virtualization, Migration, Consolidation)

Position: Sun Professional Services – Delivery Consultant – US Coverage Job Responsibilities:  Defining and translating customer business requirements for enterprise-wide or large-scale information systems supporting Virtualization, Enterprise Migration (EM) and Enterprise Consolidation (EC) into technical solutions Providing technical leadership and individual contribution to the architecture, design and implementation of these solutions Representing Sun Microsystems and Sun Professional Services interfacing with the Sun account team, customer and customer executive management to define requirements and recommend solutions. Articulates alternatives in terms of cost, benefit, and risk where multiple solutions exist Ability to build and maintain customer relationships with key decision makers and influencers Ability to lead technical teams or work independently,as an integral team member or virtually, as required. Collects, prioritizes and documents customer requirements and expectations Assists the Project Manager in the creation of technical project plans Performs Technical quality assurance audits Positioned as a Subject Matter Expert within the Enterprise Migration and Consolidation solution space Applies expertise and knowledge of state-of-the-art software, hardware, network infrastructure, and/or information technology to architect, design, troubleshoot and implement solutions for highly complex user/system migrations and consolidations Required Knowledge and Skills:  Consultative skills. Ability to define and articulate customer value propositions for products, technologies and solutions in support of EM/EC Extensive technical knowledge of EC/EC solutions and approaches Solaris Operating System (OS), including Solaris 10 and Solaris 10 Containers/Zones Solaris migration strategies Deep and broad technical knowledge of Sun products ITIL Framework Competitive environment and alternative technology solutions / approaches. Experience with application profiling, application migration both “off the shelfâ€� and custom. Extensive technical knowledge and experience migrating and consolidating mission critical and business critical systems across enterprises System and OS Performance tuning Architecting solutions for scalability, reliability, and availability Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Years of Experience: 10-12+ years experience.
