Enterprise Infrastructure Manager
Location: Dallas, TXYour location:home » find a job » advanced search » job description Apply Online Send this Job to a Friend Client is seeking an experienced manager who will manage a team of network and systems engineers responsible for all centralized infrastructure services, setting overall infrastructure standards, providing level 3 support, and supporting the company’s WAN. This position will include project management duties for all enterprise run projects, responsibility for the maintenance of network systems and services, ensuring service levels are sustained (including servers, routers, switches, firewall, VPN, other IP devices,) as well as monitoring health of critical applications by installing, upgrading, configuring and troubleshooting as required. This position will be a major contributor to rollout of new systems, network management technologies and newly created operational support procedures that will achieve optimum performance, delivery and continuity of Information Services.PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES: Oversee team of 10 network and system engineers Manage outsourced telecom vendor as well as all telecom contracts and orders Collaborate with the regional IT leaders to develop and implement enterprise standards and processes Collaborate with the security team to design, implement and manage the security infrastructure Collaborate with the QA and development group to design, implement and manage the application environment Manage Dallas infrastructure directly Plan and implement network security initiatives including: anti-virus, firewall configurations, intrusion detection and user authentication Manage the network infrastructure including: the servers, storage, and switching Analyze and evaluate network infrastructure for capacity and compatibility for business applications and data Contribute to development and maintenance of standardized procedures for change management and systems administration of operating system maintenance tasks, access control, log monitoring, patch application, performance tuning and overall change management Contribute to standardized architecture and technical approach for disaster recovery system based on business objectives Forecast network and systems demands Consult with vendors, consultants and contractors Write proposals for Director of IT Support client driven requirements that require enterprise level system or network services Participate in rotation for after hours support escalation coverage Keep abreast of the latest technology. Research new technologies Perform other duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:Minimal requirements for education, knowledge and experience: BS or BA in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered MCSE 2000 preferred CCNA preferred A minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role within a high performance networking environment is required Infrastructure provisioning and service performance management is desirable. 4-6 years of experience in system administration, performance, and monitoring disciplines; working knowledge of monitoring tools, firewall processes, and major application development environments/platforms Exposure to VMware, SAN storage and clustering/data back-up technology desirable Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization/ effectively translates complex technical issues into clear and concise business terms Demonstrated organizational/leadership skills in a highly complex, fast growing environment Ability to motivate/develop direct reports Ability to effectively communicate with staff, senior management, vendors and contractors Strong IT support and engineering experience, specifically with operating systems, tools and tracking and monitoring Highly creative team player with a high level of energy and commitment Strong verbal and written communication skills, with strong analytical, problem-solving and conceptual capabilities required Ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust priorities based on workload and direction from management Previous experience establishing and implementing company-wide standards and procedures that govern the use of computer hardware, software, e-mails systems, phone systems, and networks Some after hours and weekend work may be required including participation in the department on call rotation Some travel may be required (Up to 15%) About Hudson IT & Telecommunications Hudson IT&T serves as a trusted resource for clients seeking high-quality technology professionals and IT solutions.
