Equipment Design Engineer-ALD (Atomic Layer Deposition)

Driven by the popularity of our Savannah series Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) system and our expansion into new product lines and markets, Cambridge NanoTech is looking for an electronics and LabView control software engineer to assist in the rapid development of new ALD systems and support of existing systems.

Electrical and LabView Engineer (Atomic Layer Deposition)

This opportunity draws upon your equipment design skills and practical experience with electronic control of electromechanical systems. You will blend your eingineering talent and ambition to deliver cutting-edge production level equipment in the growing field of ALD.

The successful candidate has excellent knowledge of electronics and programming, and is highly experienced or expert in LabView 8. Familiarity with microcontrollers, and interest in equipment development and industrial automation is preferred.

Role and Responsibilities:

ALD Systems

*Develop control systems and LabView programs for new ALD systems and related instruments

*Develop hands-on maintenance for ALD systems to troubleshoot at Cambridge NanoTech and customer sites

Electronics Design

*Improve, expand or design new system control using RS485 and USB interfaces

*Create new control software with LabView 8

*System documentation, product manuals and literature

*Lead new ALD testing of features and software

Electronics Manufacturing Supervision

*Accustomed to directing and motivating technicians for product execution

*Supervise local contract manufacturer and communicate improvements to components and manufacturing procedures

Customer Support

*Support customers by troubleshooting and assisting with system issues via email and phone calls; send spare or replacement parts as necessary

*Responsible for collection and response to system bug reports, enhancement request and engineering change orders

Core Competencies

The ideal candidate for this position has:

*3-5 years--electronics design, LabView programming

*Track record of designing, manufacturing and supporting electromechanical systems

*Strong verbal and written communication skills

*Bachelor's degree(Master's preferred) in Electrical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering
