Currently, we are looking for a Exchange Engineer for a contract to hire position in Arlington, VA.Exchange EngineerLocation is metro accessible and candidate should have excellent soft skills for interacting with multiple high level personnel.   Job Description Ensure availability of messaging platform based on Microsoft Exchange 2003 Blackberry, and Ironport e-mail security platform. Respond to and resolve operational mail problems on a 24x7 basis to adhere to service level agreements. . Ensure capacity of messaging environment is at acceptable levels. Plan for, communicate to client, and implement necessary upgrades as appropriate. Identify and resolve interoperability issues between Active Directory and third party software. Develop documentation for deliverable plans for Active Directory issues and recommendations Serve as point of escalation to assist Help Desk to resolve difficult user support issues. Identify and resolve active directory problems affecting Exchange environment. Identify and resolve clustering configuration problems affecting Exchange environment. Identify and resolve SMTP routing issues problems affecting Exchange environment. Develop documentation for deliverable plans for exchange issues and recommendations. Manage Group Policy and implement GPO’s. Serve as point of escalation to assist Help Desk to resolve difficult user support issues.  Experience and Technical Requirements BS degree in computer-oriented technical discipline. 5+ years of experience as a Microsoft Exchange/AD engineer in a 24x7 production environment serving 1000+ mailboxes. Hands on experience with Microsoft Exchange 5.5, 2000, 2003. 5+ years experience with Windows operating environments in large-scale production environments Hands on Knowledge of Email backup and archival products and EMC SAN's a plus. Managed a multi-site Microsoft Active Directory environment in an enterprise of 1000+ users. Experience with installation, implementation and configuration of third party tools for Active Directory, including monitoring, GPO Management, and systems management software. Familiarity with Identity Management and AD integration with Unix a plus. Able to report on technical plans, production issues and resolutions to clients in writing and verbally with necessary technical acumen.
