The position will involve:Travel to various domestic and international market areas to test, evaluate and analyze Software and Hardware for CDMA and GSM Mobile Handset Design.Execution of test cases per CDMA and/or GSM standards and internal/external specifications; CDG3 compliance testing on live customer networks; conducting performance benchmarking to competitor/reference phones.Call Performance testing using Mobile Diagnostic Monitors to verify RF compliance and performance, etc.Quality assurance testing and test case development for a variety of mobile/wireless and client/server products.Problem isolation and reporting to QP test engineering standardsDaily and weekly compilation of various written and verbal reports on the results of testingImplementation/adherence to QP test process/procedures.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:BSEE/BSCE or 2+ Years of CDMA/GSM/cellular test experience or equivalent; Software QA experience a plus.Hands on experience on CDMA and/or GSM testing cellular handset testing or drive testing relating to handsets, Layer 3 messaging analysis; Testing of PTT, J2ME, WAP, MMS, 1xEvDO and/or 1xEvDV technologies.Experience with various Diagnostic Monitor tools such as the Spirent's UDM or Qualcomm's CAIT, QXDM, QXDM-Pro, QXDMpro, QXDM proTechnical proficiency and experience performing quality assurance testing on products of any of the following technologies: Client/Server, Configuration and setup of Windows, UNIX, and/or Linux based Servers; Network Protocols (TCP/IP, SMP, SMTP, FTP, HTTP, XML, etc.); Virtual Private Networks "VPN" (L2TP, PPTP, or IPsec based); Handheld/Smartphone Operating Systems (Palm OS, Windows CE/Pocket PC); Wireless Protocols (Bluetooth, 802.11, etc.)Must be able to spend periods of time conducting tests and analyzing data in a moving test vehicle.Technical Knowledge of Cellular and PCS Systems and Standards, Fundamental Knowledge of RF Technology and RF Test Equipment. Experience in executing software protocol, hardware & RF tests on wireless products in varying commercial infrastructures. Experience executing CDG Stage II/III, Call Performance, and Data throughput testing.Must have a clear understanding of the wireless/personal communication development process.Domestic and International travel, as well as current passport required.Ability to work in a dynamic service oriented environment that is ever changing based on customer schedule constraints and delivery expectations with minimal supervision as well as in a team situation.Proficient in computer applications including databases, spreadsheets, and word processing.
