Firewall Engineer

Must have an active Top Secret Security Clearance

Location: Washington, DC – Metro accessible

Responsible for overall technical understanding of the customer’s perimeter security architecture and surrounding infrastructure. Interface with clients to understand their business requirements. Assist the engineering teams with the development of solutions for our clients. Ensure that engineered solutions integrate into the network without adversely effecting any other network components. Written communication with client and upper management relative to on-going issues and resolutions (fires). Participation in technical meetings and discussions at the direction of the client. Proactive evaluation of potential solutions.

Requirements:

-Must have an active Top Secret Security Clearance
-TCP/IP v4 OSI theory
-Subnet masking and calculation
-TCP/IP v6 knowledge
-StoneGate Firewall experience and/or certification, high degree of knowledge of OSI layer.
-Sidewinder Firewall experience and/or certification, high degree of knowledge of proxy based firewall configurations
-Firewall, Perimeter Security architecture and design role.
-Knowledge of IT security best practices as defined by NIST and Department applicable references.
-BlueCoat Caching server experience administration and design
-Cisco Router/Switch experience and/or certification at CCNA level
-Juniper Secure Access server experience at design and implementation
-UNIX literate, MSWindows literate
-Ability to work independently and communicate with various levels of Management
-High degree of perimeter IT security knowledge.
-Sendmail experience and administration
-Familiar with content filtering packages for HTTP and SMTP for anti spam, anti virus, anti malware
-Perform On-Call responsibilities for Tier II 24x7 Operations
