Firmware Engineer (3175) DescriptionParticipate in the development and testing of our networking and other associated products.Contribute to the development by testing and debugging current codebase, developing new code for embedded processors, and identifying areas of overall improvement.Provide additional bandwidth to firmware team to allow for continued growth in the areas of customer support and feature development.Participate in reviews of documentation, coding, and testing.Participate in customer relationships and problem sites as needed.Develop code for embedded processors that enables further Networking/Ethernet functionality.Work directly with customers to identify and clarify their requirements, assess development impact, report to management, and implement as required.Lab testing of FPGA and ASIC boards to verify both ASIC and firmware functionality.Debugging of firmware, software, and ASIC defects found in lab testing.Responsible and timely use of defect tracking system to log defects upon detection, track, and resolve issues.Required SkillsBachelor's Degree:CS/CE/EE or equivalent.5 to 8+ years of industry experience.Must have experience in C coding in an embedded processor environment.Demonstrated experience in product development in at least one of the following areas: iSCSI, Networking/Ethernet, Fibre Channel, or SCSI.Ability to work in a team environment including interfacing with remote groups.Effective communication skills, including the ability to work directly with and independently with customers.
