We invent, engineer and deliver technology solutions that drive business value, create social value and improve the lives of our customers.The Quantum Science Research group at Hewlett-Packard Labs conducts both basic and applied research into nano-electronics and nano-photonics as they relate to computing and information handling.  Lab resources include a fully equipped class 10 cleanroom, nanoimprint tools, a UHV STM/AFM, multimode AFMs, NSOM, SEM, FTIR, Raman, Cyclic Voltameter, electrical/optical cryostats, a full optics lab, and two organics labs including LB and SAM monolayer capability.  Tenure at the lab has historically proven to be an excellent launch into either academic or industrial research.  Job descriptionThe Quantum Science Research group at Hewlett-Packard Labs has an opening for postdoc position with a background in Physical Chemistry, ChemE, Material Science, or other nano related physical science area. The critical task will involve the development of the spectroscopic characterization (far field and near field) methods for nanostructures, including NSOM, Raman, FTIR, optical scattering, and other nonlinear optical experiments; and to correlate the experimental results with theoretical study. The fabrication of nano plasmonic structures using advanced technology such as EBL, nanoimprinting lithography, and self-assembly for SERS applications will be of advantage. Required Required degree: PhD in Chemistry, ChemE, Materials Science or other nano related physical science area. Critical skills include optical measurement, Raman, NSOM, SERS, laser optics. Clean room experiences and standard metrology experiences are required.
