HPUX SADM -137DS

This is an HPUX System Administrator position on the State of Texas account with primary responsibility for support of servers running the HPUX operating system. This is a fast paced environment with many projects underway, some with tight target dates. Candidate must be able to take direction and show initiative to get questions answered and complete projects and tasks on time.

Additional skills which are very helpful but not required include Solaris, Linux, OpenBSD, and familiarity with SAN/Storage.

Responsibilities include HPUX system administration including installation of HPUX, hardware setup, HW and SW configuration, system OS and firmware upgrades and assistance with application installation and fixes as required. The position requires strict adherence to proscribed problem and change processes, periodic 24 x 7 on call pager support, documentation of changes planned, assistance and reporting on project work, and root cause analysis.
