IMMEDIATE COMPUTER OPERATOR OPENING

Apex Systems currently has an immediate opening for a Production Control/Computer Operator in the Downtown Baltimore area for one our largest clients. Daily responsibilities would include:

- Escalate problems related to production computer systems as prescribed by the associated documentation or to the Production Services shift leader within the defined timeframes.

- Log all problems/anomalies in the daily Production Control Problem Management Report as well as open a Help Desk ticket.

- Document special instructions or ad hoc instruction in the Production Control Turnover report.

- Send out a daily email and morning voice mail notify various Corporate Technology and key staff about significant events from the prior day’s batch cycle.

- Prepare nightly offsite tapes for the off site archive vendor pickup.

- Contact technicians after the designated change completion times and solicit the status of the change performed.

Experience Required

- Command Center experience in a 24x7 production environment

- Familiarity with Client/Server, LAN, or mainframe environments

- Good organizational and customer skills

- Good communication skills

- Attention to detail

- Familiarity of AIX/UNIX, Microsoft NT, or Novell operating systems

- Experience with production system scheduling utility, such as AutoSys

- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Exchange, Telnet and FTP software

Desired Experience

- Hands on experience with AIX/UNIX, Windows NT, AutoSys, Legato or Rumba.

- Prior experience in financial based information
