· Information Technology – Required

Background:

The scope and complexity of technical and operational changes involved in migrating IT operations from a decentralized model to a regional or national model requires effective planning and disciplined execution to manage risk, change, quality, security, and to realize the operational benefits of this transformation. Much of this work is centered in four healthcare focused IT regions nationwide. This role supports Region 1 covering the western United States.Duties:

Project Manager provides project management support to the Regional Director, the Chief Technology Officer and four (growing to six) Service Line Managers. The Region 1 Project Manager works closely with other Regional Project Managers and with functional PMO members (communications, security, finance etc.) to integrate and standardize processes, and to share critical information. Support includes meeting facilitation, preparation of meeting materials, drafting of policies and standard operating procedures, development of briefings for multiple audiences, interaction with stakeholders at all levels of government, as well as research, analysis, planning and management activities.

 

Primary initiatives include:

· Completing Region 1 VistA platform migrations to the regional data canters

· Regional storage and back-up projects

· Network infrastructure upgrades

· Telecomm installations e.g. VoIP, video conferencing etc.

· Transition to a multi-tiered (local & regional) IT operations org structure

· Establishing an operational governance model

· Establishing project management structure and processesSkills & Abilities:

· Excellent executive presence: written and oral communications with appropriate sense of urgency

· Demonstrated ability to work successfully with virtual teams

· High degree of self-direction and ability to work independently while maintaining a close collaborative relationship with the national PMO and with Region 1 staff

· Ability to work in a very dynamic environment and possessing high tolerance for ambiguity coupled with ability to create proximate structure and to influence the organization toward more mature project management structure and processes

· Flexibility – willingness to accept small tasks and ability to tackle larger initiatives

 

Education & Certification:



· Masters Degree in Business, IT Operations, or related field - Preferred

· Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred  - Preferred
