Description
This is a highly dynamic role for a very hands-on manager in a rapidly expanding $20MM non-profit organization with 5+ offices nationally and expanding.
The Project Manager-Technical Infrastructure will be an IT career-minded professional with solid and current hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, IT operations management, project management, vendor management and staff development.
Working in close conjunction with IT Director, this is a role where every day will be different and yet require the ability to have long term vision and execution, meet deadlines and be a meticulous planner with a commitment to excellence in IT service.
The chosen candidate will have the experience, knowledge and drive to take an organization from a startup IT operations and infrastructure to an enterprise, reproducible, scalable IT shop.
Responsibilities
Manage vendor in complete phased migration project of infrastructure from 3 AD to 1, Standardized WAN w/ T1s and MPLS, switching, routing, firewall (Sonicwall), wireless, servers, racks etc. Drive and manage vendor in establishing standard enterprise level infrastructure platform across all offices.Determine appropriate Layer 2/3, clientless VPN, hardware vendor based on cost, scalability and business needs.Determine and drive data center buildup and co-location effort.VOIP – experience in determining business needs and picking correct VOIP solution, whether pure, hybrid or other.Monitoring/Alerting: Establish monitoring and alerting system and determination of whether to in-house or outsource.Desktop/Laptop/PDA: In conjunction with Helpdesk Manager establish standardized end user computing platform to align with applications and business needs.Serve as guide and escalation for Helpdesk Manager and team.Serve as ultimate point of operation issue escalation (server, network outages etc…)Complete planning and coordination with Helpdesk Manager for seasonal program launches (hardware ordering, inventory, etc.) and determining business needs therein.Utilize staff to execute projects and provide hands-on mentorship and assistance where needed.Implement on call rotation as needed and serve as escalation point. Establish SLAs and processes to support.Strategically decide what to in-house vs. outsource w/ guidance from Director, not stuck on either way, but pick right solution for right problem. Currently and in future will have combination of in-house and outsourced IT solutions.Determine staffing needs based on in-house outsource strategy for that solution.

Ability to migrate from managed Lotus Notes to internal Exchange or Gmail for organizations.Security: Symantec Anti-Virus, Firewalls, VPN, Policy/Procedures.Ability and willingness to travel to remote offices and new regions 20% of time.
