Recognized as an expert in your technology area, you'll be changing the ways in which companies work, not just selling a product. job description The Primary work location is the New York Metro area.The territory includes the geographies listed below with 50% travel, with some travel international: New York City (5 Boroughs), and Metro environment (Westchester county, etc.) New Jersey ConnecticutThe Technology Consultant (TC) is a professional who provides key imaging and printing expertise to assigned corporate enterprise customers as part of the sales team. A TC makes technology expertise available to the account team, clients and any cross-functional resources needed to effectively qualify, pursue and close sales opportunities. The TC possesses a solid understanding of how imaging and printing technology (IPG) and services support our clients’ businesses. A TC is able to connect client business needs and solution gaps with HP offerings to maximize revenue, profitability and total customer experience. A TC counsels, advises and influences client decision makers, identifies key technical risk areas and engage the appropriate HP resources to overcome any limitations. A TC also orchestrates and engages 3rd party technical and sales resources when necessary to overcome solution gaps. Key responsibilities: Creates understanding of IPG’s unique value proposition Identifies technical hardware and sales differentiators Understands customer needs & requirements Develops relationships with technical influencers Delivers expertise in IPG hardware, supplies and software tools (maintains awareness of imaging and printing services and its key deliverables) Active participant in the development and execution of strategic account plans with account managers Provides leadership for virtual technical account team and ensures implementation of HP’s key tools Initiates reviews regarding status of key technical sales related initiatives Maintains a tight interface with IPG services where appropriateyour profile Bachelor's or Master's (graduate) degree in Business Administration (MBA), technical, sales or combination of education and experience; prefer 5 plus years of technical sales experience.Prefered Experience: Able to travel locally, nationally and internationally Driver's license Demonstrated customer facing, presentation, sales, and negotiation skills Demonstrated knowledge of Printing and Imaging products and services Market knowledge and competitive knowledge Experience in a Sales or Technical Sales position Broad technology knowledge (UNIX, NT, Networking, Hardware) Fluent in EnglishExperience in one or more of the following: Technical professional with broad knowledge of the technical environments Technical sales support experience in enterprise environments Consultative approach Sound knowledge of IT sales Self-motivated approach with the will to win Excellent understanding of information technology industry trends Ability to manage time Ability to influence decision makers and buyers Team-player: ability and willingness to motivate and support other consultants Provide technical support to marketing and sales teams Support Sales teams in the IT industry © 2007 Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.
