Information Systems Administrator

Applus+ Technologies Inc., a rapidly growing, entrepreneurial technology company and subsidiary of a multi-billion dollar international utility and public services holding company, is searching for an Information Systems Administrator at the Kent, Washington office. Duties include, but are not limited, to:

Support all locations to ensure network, host computer system, and individual PC’s are functioning optimally.

Preventative Maintenance of the WA2002 network, Windows 2000 servers, Windows 2000 application software (e.g. SQL, IIS, DNS, WINS, DHCP) and Windows 2000 3rd party software on an enterprise scale. 

Available to troubleshoot problems after daily operational hours.

Perform daily activities as listed below:

 

o  Examination of event logs and check system backup logs.

o  Perform Windows 2000 error diagnosis and resolution.

o  Change backup tapes when necessary.

o  Monitor system and network components and analyzing performance.

o  Recommend system upgrades and updates as necessary.

o  Work with vendors to repair hardware and software issues.

o  Maintain Policies and Procedural documentation.

 

An ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), and three to five (3-5) years of experience managing similar projects is required. Experience with firewalls and VPN a plus. Additional experience should include:

The ability to create and utilize queries written in Transact SQL and a familiarity with Microsoft .NET, .ASP, and HTML.

Experience with third party backup and recovery packages.

Hardware experience should include SCSI, Hot-Swappable RAID devices, clustering, fibre-channel, alert mechanisms and UPS

Dell, CISCO experience is a plus.
