Information Systems Manager

TransCore, a subsidiary of Roper Industries, Inc. (NYSE: ROP) is seeking a full-time Information Systems Manager to join the technical team based from Hummelstown, PA. 

 

The Information Systems Manager manages LAN and WAN connections in Hummelstown and Harrisburg, as well as manages multiple serves running Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows 2003.  He/she manages data operations, computer networks, hardware, software, and supports computer user activities.  The Information Systems Manager plans and implements budgets, oversees hardware and server upgrades, patches, virus detection, and backups.

 

This professional interfaces with department managers with regard to system needs and budget purchases, and also ensures that staff and computer users are complying with vendor software license agreements as well as SOX requirements for the corporation.

 

Additionally, the Information Systems Manager:

 Plans and implements data and voice networks.Evaluates, plans and implements computer hardware and/or software required by site.Administers remote site computer operations.Hires, develops and evaluates IT staff.Mentors, trains, and supervises IT staff. Directly supervises IS staff. Creates work assignments for IT Staff.Plans, manages and executes budgets.Leads team to solve Help Desk requests submitted to supported sites.Monitors overall performance and security of network and servers.Provides technical advice regarding Operating Systems, Software and Network when requested.Provides architecture planning and design for non-project LAN/WAN.Manages relationships with vendors or contractors as needed.Authorizes all non-project computer equipment build0s, software and peripherals that are added to the LAN/WAN.Represents department at product planning meetings.Manages technical projects.Performs the following duties personally or through subordinates:Reviews system logs, ensuring no abnormalitiesPerforms monthly security updates to systems.Ensures that Backup is done properly.Tests new technologies to improve TransCore LAN/WAN.

 

 The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

 MCSE 2000-2003. Excellent troubleshooting skills. Relevant and related experience, including supervisory experience. Strong team player. Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university, or equivalent work experience.

 

Desired Skills: CCNA or CCNP, Citrix and MS SQL Server experience
