Infrastructure Visionary for world leading financial firm.

 

In a time of downsizing within the financial markets, this company is blazing a trail and experiencing tremendous success!  As a result of pure GROWTH and opportunity, they are seeking an accomplished Infrastructure Leader to bring their systems and company to the next level globally!

 

This is the CEO’s #1 role in the company to be filled.  Highly visible, and paramount to organization’s success!

 

You will be shaping, architecting and implementing the next generation of the firm’s Trading systems, Globally.

You will be building high frequency, low latency trading systems and products.   

TRADING Systems experience is highly preferred (Algo Trading is a homerun).

 

Bottom line:  you will be creating a state of the art high performance and highly available infrastructure!

 

As the Infrastructure Leader, you will work directly with R&D to design and build new and ground breaking systems.  You will be architecting the build out of new Data Centers.  Global experience is important –you will be designing, building and managing on a global scale.  Really need to lead the infrastructure growth globally.

 

You will manage and continually build a team of highly technical engineers (LAN/WAN/SAN/LINUX/Windows, etc.)  Past Unix/Linux experience is key to help conceive new ideas – eg, Built Unix Server Farms (currently, there are daily about 170 million trades now --will be building for next decade).  The networking systems are currently global SVPN and Cisco primarily.  Need someone to envision global architecture, design and implementation.  Proven experience with SAN technologies, ability to create a virtual environment, experience with Grid technologies, building scalable data centers globally (not consolidation, but rather heavy growth), must know how to manage Capacity – need a vision on how to manage capacity as volumes grow dramatically.  Ability to strategize and build an infrastructure to support new products and environments (ie, set up internal testing env and build an infrastructure to mirror production. 

 

Overall –we will emphasize that this role is for someone who is a creative, forward thinking global leader with a proven technical foundation.  This is someone who thinks positively to achieve possible solutions – someone who works closely and well with the Business and Executive management to solve business problems (with technical solutions).   YOU will be creating your legacy by being with the leader in the field and architecting & delivering new systems – we are looking for someone who takes pride in helping to change how Wall street works... It’s not a standard role in a large bank or one of many doing this job… this is the “go to” person for global infrastructure.
