We are currently looking for an Infrastructure Technician/IT Analyst to work a long term contract position supplying Desktop Support for our client in southern Michigan. Job Description:Infrastructure Technician- Provides desktop and Avaya telecom support at this location. Responsible for analyzing, troubleshooting, supporting computer applications and systems for users, providing network, server, and desktop support. This position will provide support for IT applications and systems to ensure timely, reliable, cost effective service to employees, contractors, and customers. Assists in daily activities relating to Data Networks – especially PCs, Telephony, LAN, Servers, and related systems. Possesses a detailed technical understanding of support and configuration of hardware (laptops, desktops, printers – bar code printers a plus); infrastructure troubleshooting and support (servers, networks, wireless access). Assists with execution of infrastructure and application plant level projects and IT asset management as needed-Provides 1st and 2nd level PC and Network support as applicable for infrastructure hardware and software in order to provide the customer with a workaround or a fix. Monitors and maintains Remedy Helpdesk tickets for plant facility. Participates on projects as directed by Local/Regional IT management Acts as the main point of contact for desk-side support at the location site. Coordinates, schedules, tests, implements and documents application upgrades or patches in order to remain on current levels of software utilized in the supported sites. Gathers information needed to support IT business metrics. Refers to performance metrics. Performs analysis and makes recommendations regarding infrastructure related equipment and software. Assists with asset management as needed. Implements software and hardware upgrades to support IT initiatives and comply with established standards. Seeks out opportunities to increase end-user operational efficiency. Maintains infrastructure in order to decrease downtime and maintain quality. Diagnoses and repairs hardware failures; maintains inventory of equipment and parts; adheres to and executes maintenance.
