Job Description for Web Developer/Site Admin

Candidate should have web development experience using HTML/XHTML,CSS to support Web 2.0 community Web site. However this is not a 100% coding or web development role, but will consist of maintaining and supporting client website. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, Website maintenance and support, communications with stakeholders, vendors, coordination, program and project management within the site. Also serve as a back-upto the Site Admin/ IT Program Manager and assist Web site day-to-daysupport activities. This opening is for on-site work in San Jose.



 

Good communication and written skills to communicate with stakeholders and IT counterpart on-site related issues. A proven ability to build solid stakeholder and IT team relationships is essential.

Assist with Logistics for IPTV broadcast. An eye for detail and an understanding of how to improve website user experience would be beneficial.

 





Essential Skills andQualifications:

Must have a Bachelors in Computer Science, or equivalent with 2-3 years working experience as Web Developer or IT analyst or Site Admin.

Hands-on experience of writing HTML/XHTML code using CSS.

Exposure of Web 2.0 technologies, Rich Media and New media technologies and skill of writing open standard languages i.e. Markup languages and FTL tags.

Basic knowledge of programming language i.e. CGI/Java Script.

Understanding of different encoding standards i.e. Progressive /Streaming media, media player, MP3 and ability to encode video clips using industry standard tools i.e. Adobe Premier, Sorenson Squeeze and Sound Forge, etc.

Skill to produce quality graphics and optimize for web site using graphics tools i.e. Photoshop and Image Ready.

Excellent written, verbal and face to face communication skills

The ability to translate stakeholders business & web requirements into workable coordinated web development tasks

Extremely autonomous, self-supporting and self-reliant

Good English is required and willing to work on site in San Jose office.

Desirable Skills andQualifications:

Working Experience with Dreamweaver and Flash /Action Script will be plus.

Proficient with Microsoft products / Microsoft office

Good understanding of data migration from one database to other using API or XML Imports.

Exposure / working experience of Authoring tool for E-learning Applications i.e. Articulate, Macromedia products, Camtasia etc.

Exposure to Web Analytics tools i.e. Google analytics, Omniture or Visual Science will be plus.

Exposure of UI Design and User Experience / Usability Study will be plus

Meticulous with taking notes and understanding customer requirements
