LAN/WAN Design Engineer

iBridge Solutions, a locally owned, privately held company is looking for an experienced Network Design Analyst to join their project team!  This is a full-time Network Design Analyst role with a competitive salary base and paid overtime!  Also included is a generous benefits package including family medical coverage with no annual deductible, vision, dental, paid time off, 401K, employee life & accidental death & dismemberment and short/long-term disability coverage.

 

Selected candidates will be responsible for analyzing business needs and developing network connectivity solutions to address them.  Candidates will work closely with installers in the client Network Control Center (NCC) to design and execute LAN and WAN implementations and provide post implementation support on various projects.

 

Specific Required Experience:

 

· Experience designing and implementing network solutions for large corporate clients (greater than 1000 users) including hardware installation and setup, device configuration, cabling, etc.

· Experience designing network connectivity solutions using Ethernet, TCP/IP, T-1/T-3 WAN connectivity. Must be proficient with configuring and trouble-shooting Cisco networking equipment (specifically Cisco 6500 and 7000 series switches) and operating systems.

· Experience managing and participating in several concurrent infrastructure design and implementation projects.  Ideal candidates will have extended knowledge of network and infrastructure project management processes and techniques. 

· Experience evaluating business requests to determine feasibility, work with software engineers to define alternatives and recommend optimal solutions.  Experience coordinating and documenting project/release level user acceptance testing. 

· Experience managing changes to the project plan and enhancements of products and services.  Preparing and/or presenting documentation for business and/or technical presentations.

· Excellent communication skills. This position is responsible for writing technical documents including: requirements analyses, implementation plans and as-built documentation.  A Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience and formal education.

 

Specific Desired (Optional) Experience:

 

· Experience designing network solutions for a retail sales based client is a plus and specific experience with back office systems and protocols that support point-of-sales terminals, cash registers and credit card processing is preferred.

· Experience designing network infrastructure to support a large corporate client with a focus on Cisco security configuration (ASA, PIX, FWSM, VPN) is a plus.

· Experience implementing VPN systems across the internet.  Experience in designing and implementing networks in security areas (DMZ, VPN, B2B connectivity, SSL/VPN) is a plus.
