ABOUT THE POSITION



 

Serves as information security technical consultant under the direction of the Chief Information Security Officer. Provides task management, training and mentoring to other assigned staff. Draft plans, guidelines and procedures, trains campus systems administrators or security tools and solutions, and pilots/evaluates new security solutions. Conducts extensive security risk assessments and reviews on new and existing technology solutions, analyzes business processes, and initiates corrective and preventive actions. Responsible for pre-audit activities with department within the scope of the University's Information Security Management System on an on-going basis. Active participant in multiple information technology committees and project groups, and assists in developing policy, procedures, and guidelines.  

 

Requirements:

 

Bachelor's degree and seven years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience.  



Preferred Qualifications:



 

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in CIS, Business, or Computer Science.

· Candidate should have work experience and knowledge at the Lead Security Analyst Level, evidenced by a minimum of 7 years of work experience in the information security field, 1-5 years of information technology work experience.

· At minimum, one or more of the following information security certifications: CISSP, CISA, CISM, HISP, SSCP, Encase Certified Examiner, SANS GIAC.

· At minimum, one or more of the following information technology certifications: MCSE, MCP, CCNA, CCNE, or a UNIX administrator certification.
