Manager - Finance & Accounting (Sales Tax Manager)

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:

We are currently seeking a Sales & Use Tax Manager to oversee our sales and use tax research, compliance and polices.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Develop and maintain sales and use tax matrix Ensure compliance with state and local sales and use tax laws Prepare monthly sales and use tax returns Research sales and use tax laws and present tax saving opportunities to management Oversee set-up and maintenance of  Vertex front and back end products Audit exemption certificates Document internal sales and use tax policies and procedures Identify and implement efficiencies Responsible for sales and use tax audits Respond to internal and external customer inquiries

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 7+ years of recent sales and use tax research and compliance experience A bachelor’s degree, preferably with an emphasis in accounting, finance, or a related field. Broad exposure to state and local taxation Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills Strong analytical skills, extremely detail oriented Strong knowledge of transactional tax law CPA or a Masters in Taxation is strongly preferred Prior use of research tools (ex. CCH) Hands on experience with Vertex or similar software Strong Microsoft Office skills
