Experience

 

Experienced manager with solid customer relation skills and 7+ years of technical experience with network and security management systems administration.

 

Project management experience with Network management and security systems, and network administration of a large WAN/LAN networking environment, and the associated hardware and software solutions, protocols, security, operating systems and data communications techniques utilized.

Has working knowledge of ITIL and Six Sigma/Lean Sigma methodologies

 

 

Knowledge/Skills

 

Requires a highly skilled, project-oriented individual capable of managing multiple complex assignments.

Strong communication, people and project-management capabilities.Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.Strong Written and Oral communication skills. High degree of knowledge with AIX, UNIX, WINTEL Operating Systems and Networking technologies utilizing Packet/Message/Circuit switching and Cell Relay technologies.Highly proficient in Network Management, Network Security, Network Design and Implementation. Competency in WAN/LAN networking and management system technologies; routed network infrastructures and protocols; legacy system protocol’s; and LAN network architectures.Competency in Security methodologies; Firewalls, IDS/IPS, access control lists, encryption and public key infrastructure. Experience with SEM/SIM technologies and security concepts.  Knowledge of high level programming languages such as C++, C, or JAVA. Understanding WEB technology & implementation, Lotus Notes and relational database systems. Ability to write scripts in various shells or Perl.

 



Department Function

 

The Management Systems and Network Security Team is responsible for directing the research and management and security monitoring of technological trends and directions with respect to the internetworking of companies network infrastructure with Business partners, Core & SMART Participant networks and the Corporate network infrastructures, ensuring the highest security, availability and performance of the network.

 

This group performs the analysis and design and engineering of the network and management systems infrastructures.  Provide 3rd level support production and development network management systems and networks

 

Position Summary

 

 

Manages multiple projects, professional and technical staff, and other related activities including the research and monitoring of technological trends and directions, and the analysis of the organizations use of IT to identify technological opportunities to support corporate and client areas short and long range plans and objectives.

 

Directs or conducts research projects to identify and evaluate emerging technologies and develops plans and strategies to introduce new technology which will provide a competitive advantage in the marketplace.

 

Assigns personnel to the various projects and directs activities.

 

Reviews, evaluates and prepares periodic performance reports of the staff.  Prepares activity and progress reports on activities of section.  Performs related duties as assigned or requested.

 

 

Principal Responsibilities

 

 

 

Management and Network Security Systems Support Manager delivers analysis and design of advanced technology solutions as well as the support of network and system environments for the production, assurance, security and development functions of information services.

 

Directs all levels of the Management and Network Security Engineering Support and Management System support areas for seamless integration and management of the networks.

 

Responsible for overall availability and performance of these Networks and Management systems within the production and disaster data centers.

 

Evaluates and recommends emerging networking technologies.

 

Consults and works on development and architectural issues with the Applications and Strategic Development groups. Analyzing these technologies against needs and making recommendations for implementation, enhancements and upgrades.

 

Manages multiple projects, professional and technical staff, and other related activities of the area.  Develops and Maintains standards, documentation and procedures, manages scheduling for all tasks required to support production operations.

 

Manages the technical staff; provides technical guidance and addresses administrative issues such as departmental budgeting, staffing, and reviews.

 

Some travel between sites is required.
