Position Summary:  CONTRACTOR - Manufacturing Product Support Engineer – Complex, High-Reliability Command and Control Systems


CPU Technology, Inc. is searching for a CONTRACTOR - Manufacturing Product Support Engineer to support production and field service of a variety of products.  The MPSE is a contract position to last three to six months with a possible extension for 9 to 12 months.  This position is the first-line support for customers and manufacturing for various products designed and developed by CPU Technology, Inc.  The candidate must have a broad experience base, including system-level skills in analog, power and mixed signal design, digital and processor design.   The candidate must have excellent HW/SW debugging and problem solving skills.  The MPSE must have the ability to take a technical leadership role in the execution of the manufacturing and implementation of our products.  During critical phases of new product introduction, extensive travel will be required.  Travel will normally be required 10-15% of the time.

 

THE ABILITY TO OBTAIN A US GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED!

 First point of contact for technical issues for customers and manufacturingFacilitate new product introductionDevelop and present technical information to customers Provide technical support to customers and manufacturingUnderstand customer and manufacturing requirements and have the ability to communicate these requirements to CPU Technology, Inc.Deliver technical presentations and technology demonstrationsProvide technical diagnostics and tests to support manufacturingCommunicate technical issues effectively and appropriately to CPU Technology, Inc., customers and manufacturing partnersIdentify product improvement and cost-saving opportunities

 

Required Skills:

 THE ABILITY TO OBTAIN A US GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED!5 or more years of experience supporting electronics manufacturing, preferably in the defense or aerospace industry System and board-level troubleshooting and testing experience5 years experience with analog and power circuits and components5 years experience with microprocessor-based system debug and the ability to access and manipulate system resources via software to facilitate debugExperience with National Instruments toolset5 years experience in digital, analog and mixed signal electronics design or design supportWorking knowledge and design experience with embedded systems, firmware, development tools, microcontrollers, mixed signal, analog, power management, ASICs and FPGAsDemonstrated experience with commonly-used practices and procedures within the defense industryBachelor’s degree in a technical disciplineExcellent communication skills both in oral and written form Strong problem-solving, communication, interpersonal and organizational skillsDemonstrated experience in presenting technical informationWillingness to travel 25%, with periods of extensive travel during critical product phasesStrong work and business ethics
