Mintera is backed by prestigious venture capital firms and is already serving the requirements of partners world-wide.
Mintera is located in Acton, MA and offers exciting, dynamic opportunities.
Manufacturing Test Engineer
Role/Responsibility
Reporting to the Manager, Technical Operations and Quality Control, the Manufacturing Test Engineer will develop and direct processes for assembling, testing and evaluating a products operation against its published specifications. The successful candidate will have a strong background in automated test development using LabView programming concepts, experience with transitioning new products from Engineering to a Contract Manufacturer and be able to develop and define the required test criteria to properly evaluate and verify a products operation against its published specifications.
Required Experience
• Develop effective comprehensive Test Specifications, listing tests performed and methodology used for product verification
• Develop and implement Test Plan at designated Contract Manufacturer(s) insuring test meets expressed capacity, quality and test coverage goals. Scope of architected test process includes; Board Prep, Digital and Optical Functional test, ESS and System Test.
• Create and maintain automated test programs developed under the LabVIEW programming environment. Familiarity with IEEE-488, RS232 and LAN based equipment control protocols.
• Specify, design and/ or fabricate required manufacturing test fixtures or equipment needed to properly test the product in manufacturing environment. Should be easily integrated into manufacturing test application, and designed with emphasis on automation, ease of use and durability.
• Ensure new products meet Mintera’s Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT) guidelines. Includes reviewing the Design Specifications, Schematics, CAD drawings and other associated documentation or software and making recommendations for improvement
• Specify and develop test methods based on Design Specification used in development and implement of a series of validation tests to verify overall operation and functionality of new product before released to manufacturing. Attention should be given to features that may not be specifically tested by the manufacturing diagnostics. Typical product verification test include: operating range, temperature cycling, power cycling, power margining, frequency margining, ESS, and any other tests deemed appropriate to ensure the product robustness and customer satisfaction.
• Review the manufacturing diagnostics for completeness, accuracy, and ease of use. Report defects and suggested improvements to Diagnostic Engineer.
• Write and maintain Manufacturing Test Procedures for the Test Operators and Technicians indicating how to effectively use the diagnostics tests and debug features.
Required Technical Skills
• Telecommunications experience, (Ethernet, SONET, ATM, TDM.)
• LabVIEW and automated test programming experience.
• An understanding of analog and digital circuitry.
• An understanding of and demonstrated experience designing and implementing high speed optical parametric testing solutions.
• Contract Manufacturing experience a plus.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing principles, TQM, ISO 9000 standards
• Basic computer skills including C programming concepts and MS Office applications
• A firm knowledge of passive and active components.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to monitor product data and quality yields. Identify and drive manufacturing and test process improvements.
• Ablility to effectively interface and transfer test methodologies to Contract Manufacturers.
• Ability to lead and train technicians and Contract Manufacturer’s personnel on the execution and monitoring of the test process
