Position Overview

 

The NOC Engineer is responsible for the continued support, administration and maintenance of the Microsoft Active Directory, Windows 2003 Server and VMware environments at an international law firm. This position requires a combination of exceptional interpersonal, communication, organizational and technical skills. Acts a liaison between departments to analyze and make recommendations for the business needs and deploy new technologies.

 

Responsibilities:NOC Engineer with experience in a Windows 2003 server environmentStrong knowledge of VMWare ESX serverProvides system administration for Windows 2000 & 2003 Server, Exchange Server 2003, Windows Terminal Server, VMware ESX and clients Maintain and upgrade current Windows NT/2000/2003 ServersStrong knowledge in Active Directory Knowledge of SQL 2000/2005Proficient in HW troubleshooting; including PCs, servers and printers, network equipmentMaintains smooth operation of a multi-user computer system, including local area networksPerform server administration functions such as user/group administration, scripting, group policy development and implementationLead projects and provide solutions for a variety of business aspects involving hardware and software configurationsMakes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, and coordinates installation. Trains internal users.Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation and use of office automation equipment and resources Maintain and support DNS servers in multiple forest environment

 

Knowledge / Education:

 

·  5 + years of experience in a NOC environment

·  Must possess strong client relationship management skills and strong analytical and problem-solving skills

·  Workload prioritization experience and solid project management skills

·  Must have excellent Technical and Business Communication skills

·  Experience working with remote locations and end-user populations

·  In-depth experience in Windows 2003 & Active Directory and Group Policies

·  VMWare implementation/management/operations experience
