Network Analyst / Data Center Technician:

Responsibilities:

25% - Troubleshooting hardware and system issues; involves Hardware and DataCenter Knowledge, basic networking, OS and Active Directory experience.
30% - Installation of new hardware and build-out of OS (Windows 2000/2003)
15% - Maintenance of SAN/NAS -- requires EMC/SAN-NAS experience. Knowledge of fiber switching and Brocade switches
15 % - Maintaining Voice Recorders -- Includes knowledge of Telephony (Basic understanding) and Hardware skills
15% - Documentation and help with other MQ Corporate server trouble issues.

 

Technical Experience Required:First point of contact within the Data Center – must be familiar with Enterprise Datacenter Environment and associated infrastructure and possess solid troubleshooting experience.Understanding of Datacenter power and capacity planningMust have the ability to set up and configure Windows 2003 and Red Hat Linux.Must have solid experience with Active DirectoryPossess basic scripting experience.Ability to rack and cable servers to required specificationsAbility to set-up and configure new systemKnowledge of Disaster Recovery policies and proceduresKnowledge of Cisco Switches/RoutersKnowledge and understanding of TCP/IPUnderstanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networkingKnowledge of Cisco CATOS and IOS configuration Experience working in multi-vlan / segmented network environmentUnderstanding of Spanning Tree ProtocolFamiliarity with Brocade Fiber-channel switches and basic Fiber infrastructureExperience with EMC DMX series SAN Hardware/ArchitectureExperience with EMC CNS Celerra NAS HardwareFamiliarity with HP MSA series array hardwareUnderstanding of EMC SRDF replication model



TECHNICAL ENVIRONMENT / EXPERIENCE DESIRED:

 

Operating Systems: Windows 2000 Pro, Server, Advanced Server; Windows 2003 Standard and Enterprise; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4/5; Windows XP

 

Software Experience: Altiris / HP RDP imaging and management software; Visio; MS Office; Knowledge of Enterprise monitoring applications such as Sitescope, Open View, etc; Knowledge of Oracle 10G a plus

 

Hardware Experience: HP/Compaq Server and Blade Hardware; Understanding of basic telephony equipment, including MUX and DS3 and/or related hardware

 

Protocols / Services: Microsoft Clustering Services; Windows Load Balancing Services; Active Directory; Basic Scripting knowledge
