Network Security Engineer 

Alert Logic is a leading provider of on-demand compliance and security solutions for mid-sized organizations.  Our on-demand platform utilizes software-as-a-service (SaaS) to enable our customers the easiest way to secure their networks and comply with policies and regulations. 

We are continuing to expand our team and looking for an experienced Network Security Engineer to join our Houston office.  The Network Security Engineer (NSE) is responsible for deploying and configuring network security appliances.  This role is the first technical point of contact for customers after the sale of the service and works with them to manage their deployment until completion. 

 

 

Primary Responsibilities:Manage customer network security appliance deploymentAssist customers with selection of placement of intrusion prevention appliancesAssist with switch configuration, IDS rule configuration and tuning.Problem solve issues as they arise

Required Skills: Minimum 2 years experince with IDS and vulnerability scanningMinimum 2 years experience working with switches and port mirroringStrong command of LINUX systems administrationStrong understanding of TCP/IPSolid understanding of intrusion detection concepts and network security best practicesStrong customer services skillsStrong time management skillsStrong attention to detailStrong communication skills 

Desired Skills:Experience with Cisco PIX, Iptables, PF, tcpdump, ethereal, and other TCP/IP stream tools

Education:CCNA certification preferredAny security certification a plus
